European premiere of Daniel Askill's feature film "Lunacy" in Berlin.
Hosted by fairly new cultural center ACHTBerlin, with special thanks to DCM - AKKURAT created an invite-only screening for Daniel Askill's feature film "Lunacy".
Designed as both a linear feature film and a multi-screen installation, Lunacy was shot on a remote compound in Australia’s ancient Daintree Rainforest. Askill is no stranger to visually-stimulating projects, having created memorable music videos for the likes of Sia and Lady Gaga among other projects, but Lunacy was a new challenge.
The film was even improvised — yes, there was no script — over a three-week period with an ensemble cast; and was partly inspired by Luis Buñuel’s 1964 Mexican surrealist film, The Exterminating Angel.
Lunacy will be showed in Los Angeles, before hitting streaming screens via Apple TV+ in April 2024.
