James Marcus Haney is an LA native with a home on the road. His passion for travel, people and music informs his commercial work, producing images that are as playful and spontaneous as they are intimate, raw and revealing. His 2014 feature length documentary “No Cameras Allowed” (released through MTV) recounts the irresistible story of how Marcus first became a photographer/director, starting with a jump over the fence at Coachella. The success of the film eventually led to a guest appearance on CONAN as well as numerous long term collaborations with global superstars such as Coldplay and Mumford & Sons.

His second film, “Austin To Boston,” followed in 2015. In 2021, Marcus released his debut large format photography book “Fanatics” featuring a foreword from Sir Elton John.As well as his commercial work, Marcus has travelled across the Democratic Republic of Congo, Jordan, and Ukraine for the charity War Child and is currently completing a forthcoming feature documentary (with EP Spike Lee) following the Central American migrant caravan on its journey to the US border.
